How safely I have landed.

Not just safely, but spectacularly.

Tonight Gainesville is pulsing with vibe I like.

Vibe from a dream.

Outside in the courtyard there are friends, and friends yet to be.

There is live music and live painting.

A spectacular mural is taking shape, and the trip is good.

Wow! Spectacular.

Of all the places to land… THIS was the place I was meant to be.

How deep and divine that THIS happened to me.

After all the hell,

After the cancer, the divorce, the foreclosure, the crime, the ghetto, the poverty, the alcoholism, the heartbreak, the depression, the bitterness.

I had become hopeless.

I have landed here… I have landed tonight.

Tonight and now!

How dreadful things could have been.

It is beyond belief that Gainesville, Tom Hart, Joe Courter, and all my students have caught me safely in their arms.

I breathe deeply, thank Ganesh, Maha Lakshmi, Durga, Saraswati, and Lord Shiva that I am here.

And such randomness so often leads to disaster.

I had no plan.

I had no money.

I ran away from all I knew, with no money, with no plan.

Such randomness could have ended very badly.

Don’t I know it.

Don’t I know it.

Knowing it fills my heart with gratitude.

Thank you all, from God, to Tom, to the town I love.
